Spherical lenses  are lenses taken out from a sphere such as a ball. Where as, cylindrical lenses are lenses taken out from a surface of a cylinder like a tumbler. Cylindrical lenses have an axis associated with them. Both, spherical and cylindrical power can keep changing through life.   What Does A Cylindrical Lens Do? A cylindrical lens is typically used to focus, condense or expand incoming light. A cylindrical l

Optical Cylindrical Lens Uses

图片
Optical cylindrical lens can be used for converging or diverging light beams in a single axis. Cylindrical lens is used in many industries and fields such as optical metrology, laser scanning, spectroscopy, laser diode output beam shaping, and light-sheet illumination microscopic imaging.   Form the collimated light source into a line light source. This is the most wide use of cylindrical lens. Taking a plano concave cylindrical lens  as an example, it can be a beam of collimated light that expands into a linear light source according to the magnification.   The cylindrical lens is also used for astigmatism. Collimation of diode output beam The output beam of the laser diode diverges in an asymmetrical form, and its collimation work is more challenging. For example, for a diode light source with a divergence angle, if only a standard spherical lens is used, it can only be collimated in a single direction, and divergence or convergence will occur in the other direction. Meniscus Cylindrical Lens

图片
Meniscus Cylindrical Lens  can increase the NA of the system while only adding slightly to the total spherical aberrations. The Negative Meniscus Lens is used to increase the focal length of another lens while maintaining the angular resolution of the optical assembly. This lens shape is best used when one conjugate is relatively far from the lens.   If you are looking for reliable optical component manufacturers , please choose us, and we will be your best partner.

Cylinder

图片
Cylinder Lens  is typically used to focus incoming light to a line, or to change the aspect ratio of an image. Cylindrical Lenses have a single cylindrical surface that causes incoming light to be focused in only a single dimension, stretching the image. Cylinder Lenses are available with positive or negative focal lengths, ideal for laser line generation or anamorphic beam shaping to circularize laser outputs.   As   a reliable optical products manufacturer , we will do our best to meet all the needs of customers.

Achromatic Cemented Cylindrical Lens

图片
An achromatic cylindrical lens  can minimize chromatic aberration, so it can be used to focus a single direction of a multi-color light beam. Unlike a spherical lens that produces a point-focusing spot, an achromatic cylindrical lens can produce a linear focusing spot. Our cylindrical achromatic doublets are pre-installed in a Ø1" housing for ease of use. The housing is engraved with the part number, the range of the increased projection film, the focal length, the arrow indicating the direction the lens should face when the quasi-linear light source, and the infinity symbol indicating that the lens has an infinite conjugate ratio. As one of the professional precision optical components  companies, Ecoptik (also known as BRD Optical) can provide various achromatic cylindrical lenses. If you have a demand, please feel free to contact us.

Plano Convex Cylindrical Lens

图片
A plano-convex cylindrical lens  is used to condense light in one axis. A positive plano cylindrical lens is able to create a line image from a point of light, to change the aspect ratio of an image or to focus collimated input light to a line. Plano- convex cylindrical lenses are typically used for illumination of slit and line detector arrays, laser projection, laser line focussing and anamorphic beam shaping. If you have any demand, please contact Ecoptik (also known as BRD Optical).   If you want to know more kinds of precision optical products , please visit our website.

Optical Cylindrical Lens

A cylindrical optical lens is typically used to focus, condense or expand incoming light. A cylindrical optical lens has one cylindrical surface, causing light to be focussed in a single dimension or axis. It can also be used to expand the output of a laser diode into a symmetrical beam. Cylindrical optical lenses are technically more difficult to manufacture than spherical or flat lenses which is why Ecoptik  (also known as BRD Optical) uses state-of-the-art polishing techniques alongside stringent lens assessment to manufacture each lens.   Cylindrical optical lenses  are typically rectangular, square, or circular and of either a plano-convex or plano-concave design. The cylindrical optical lenses of Ecoptik (also known as BRD Optical) combine low wedge with high surface accuracy. As a leading optical components manufacturer , we assess the quality of each individual lens using Trioptics centration measurement and a Zygo GPI interferometer.  All Ecoptik lenses are available both unco
