 Ball lenses are completely spherical lenses most commonly used to couple light in and out of fibers. Half-ball lenses are hemispheres.

Custom ball lenses are available in a range of alternative materials such as optical grade glass or even ceramics or IR crystal.   Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters  Introduction Polarization beamsplitter cube  split randomly polarized beams into two orthog-onal, linearly, polarized components-S-polarized ligh is reflected at a 90°.   Angle while P-polarized light is transmitted.
